MEDITATION is all the buzzword lately, but WHAT IS IT and HOW DO YOU DO IT?
To answer those questions is not an easy task. The are so many different ways to meditate, There are different styles of meditation and it really all depends on you and what you want. We will be looking at a few different types of meditation and offer you an opportunity to decide for yourself what works best for you. We are all different and will prefer and respond to different practices.
One of the biggest misconceptions about meditation is that it has to be done in a certain way.
Meditation can be formal or informal and that is all up to you and how you want your meditation experience to be. In some formal meditations you have to sit a certain way and the use of malas and mantras is very important. On the other hand meditation can be a very informal practice that will yield you the same results.
Meditation is very personal and the more you meditate, the the more individual your meditation practice will become. You may also choose to incorporate a simple meditation ritual as part your experience. Meditation rituals don't have to be overly complex, Part of your ritual could just be whether you use candles, crystals, music or whatever you feel will help you to get into that meditation space.
Mediation can be super simple and done quickly if needed. You can just close your eyes focus on your breathing for 5 - 6 breaths and then do a simple body scan. All you need for a successful meditation is you and the more you meditate, the more you will reap the many benefits.
